Kate Shore is a Melbourne jeweller who has gained world-wide recognition for her beautiful and original hand crafted engagement rings. Kate specializes in ‘custom-made, one-off pieces’ designed with the input and guidance of the customer. Her engagement rings are created with a special emphasis on sustainable practices and are sure to be the envy of every bridesmaid.

Kate Shore began her love for jewellery in 2001 when she worked with a local Jeweller in NSW. In 2005 she joined the Melbourne jewellery scene and commenced an apprenticeship at a traditional jewellery manufacturer’s workshop. Here Kate worked making a range wedding and engagement rings, which allowed her to develop a solid foundation of traditional jewellery making skills.

At the end of 2007 she completed her formal ‘Certificate of Engineering in Jewellery Manufacture’ and was awarded the WorkCo Limited Young Apprentice of the Year.

In 2008 Kate began working at Small Space jewellery store, where she worked making more contemporary engagement rings and more unusual silver and gold jewellery. Here she was able to develop her contemporary skills and style and expand her knowledge of gemstones and materials.

In early 2009 Kate became her own boss when she created her own label ‘Kate Shore Jewellery’.

When attending an appointment, you are encouraged to contribute your own ideas and inspirations as a starting point. Kate will spend time working with you one on one to plan a piece specifically to your taste. You are encouraged to bring photographs and pictures of jewellery that you like but it must be stressed that Kate will not copy any items of another jewellery designer.

Kate will share and explain to you about the stones and metals available and come up with a creation that is tailored to your taste and your budget. Any stones that you may desire can be sourced for you to approve, and in particular Kate encourages the use of local or Australian gemstones, and conflict-free diamonds.
